As a marine naturalist for the family-run ecotourism company Five Star Whale Watching, I educate guests in English, German, and Dutch on the biology, behavior, and conservation of cetaceans and other marine wildlife in the Salish Sea. Our guests include a diverse mix of BC locals as well as visitors from all across the world. In addition to guiding, I contribute to regional research and conservation efforts by conducting photo-identification of whales and maintaining a sighting and ID database, with daily reports submitted through the Pacific Whale Watch Association (PWWA) log and Ocean Wise’s WhaleReport app.
At Five Star we believe in responsible and respectful whale watching and are a proud member of the PWWA. We follow all Be Whale Wise guidelines and promote ethical and responsible whale watching practices.
