
Hosted by Black Turtle Dive on Koh Tao in the Gulf of Thailand, I assisted underwater sculptor Spencer Arnold (Drowning Sculpture) from Conservation Diver on an artificial reef project for Black Turtle Dive. Together, we created an underwater museum of welded steel helixes mounted on concrete bases, which were deployed off Sairee Beach for recreational divers to explore. Each helix is engraved with the genus of a coral species and is designed as a hands-on learning tool for reef conservation courses, allowing students to practice identifying coral genera by attaching the correct species to the sculptures as part of active reef restoration and education.
