I am a PhD student in the
Baum Lab at the University of Victoria, where I study coral symbioses under global change. My research focuses on coral recovery trajectories in the decade following the 2015–2016 El Niño event. I combine coral imagery analysis and molecular laboratory techniques to investigate host–
Symbiodiniaceae interactions under heat stress across gradients of human impact on Kiritimati (Christmas Island), Kiribati.
I am particularly interested in beneficial bacteria and
Symbiodiniaceae and how they contribute to enhancing coral resilience in the face of changing environmental conditions.
Research interests:- Coral microbiology
- Beneficial Microorganisms for Corals (BMCs)
- Symbioses in general
- Artificial reefs for restoration
-
Diadema antillarum
